Lol done that a few years ago when i was smashed in newquay! So funny cause I was dead serious and fuming for about 30 seconds until all my mates were laughing at me!

It only seems to have started in the past year but I've started completely misreading things: Can I have a pint of Ouseburn please? you mean Queensburn? (It was my first pint too, not even tipsy at the time!); Another time I asked the dinner lady for the chilli, there was nothing on the menu that even remotely resembled 'chilli'... She thought I was having a laugh, and I was just totally bewildered that I'd read something that wasn't even there!
Another time I was giving someone my mobile number, and just started counting up to ten lol!

A few times I've got in my car, started the engine and then panicked because I couldn't feel my keys on my pocket and thought I'd forgot them.
Same has happened when I've had my phone in my hand and thought I'd forgot my phone.

I once popped a teabag into my mug and began filling it up with water, adding milk, sugar, stirring for ages, put the milk away...went to grab mug and noticed that it looks rather light and watery....
Teabag was sat on the table nest to the mug the whole time!

Standing in a queue somewhere, wallet in hand, waiting to pay for something.
Tap the trouser leg instinctively to check for wallet. Panic instantly at wallet's absence.
Realise wallet is in hand.
Repeat 4 minutes later.

Making coffee, bleary-eyed one morning.
Grabbed the little white bowl with the sugar in it, chucked in my 'kick-start' three spoonfuls, and two spoons of coffee. Water, milk, lovely job, head for the PC...
Hang on. The sugar's in a bag, not a bowl. It was salt.
The next ten minutes were spent poking twisted bits of bog roll into my keyboard to try and absorb the results...

A friend of mine used to get home, make a cup of tea, grab a packet of crisps, head upstairs, put the tea on the table and throw the crisps on the bed next to the table.
One day he put the crisps on the table and threw the tea on the bed. Idiot.
There's no way I could have told that story without it looking like it was me and not my friend, but it was a friend.
I also realise that it now looks like I'm defending the point too much, so let's just say it was me and have done with it.

I must admit, I've had a LOT of derp moments. One recent one was when I was working on the project car, and I'm sat in the car wondering why nothing is happening when I turn the key. I then proceed to remove all the lower dash plastics thinking it was a result from messing about with some of the wires down there. An hour later, I'm visibly mad, and dad comes home, asks what I'm doing, and then walks to the front of the car and picks up the car battery... The car battery that I had gotten out of the shed ready, intending to put it in the engine bay, but I obviously skipped that step

But I'm not so sure... you seem too eager now to accept it was you...
I did exactly the same thing when I worked at Toyota, jumped in a Prius and started it up, nothing, wondered WTF? was going on, asked the other salesman and he said it is on just the engine wont kick in until you get to a certain speed. Lol.

One time at work I thought of an ingenious time-saving trick. I'd wash all the teaspoons by putting them in the glass coffee pot with hot water and some hairy liquid, and swilling it round a bit.
The replacement coffee pot cost me forty-three quid.

Frequently and every day.. but this is quite normal for IT.
I once spent days trying to find out why some code was causing so many problems. It turned out that one line of code was commented out (i.e. soft deleted) with a single "*" and I missed it.
Now days, GUI editors show soft deleted lines with different colours but this was during the green screen days. My boss at the time gave me an Astrix key in a presentation box

filled up a shopping basket in the local tescos (about 60seconds walk from my house)
about an hour later my other half asks why there is a tesco's shopping basket in the kitchen...
I then realise I had jsut filled up the basket and left the shop!
(went back and paid it seemed very odd to be outside carrying a shopping basket)

Just had another 'moment'.
I wanted some music on, so I opened the CD tray, took the CD out, put another in, realised the amp wasn't on, turned the amp on, took the CD out, closed the CD tray....and wondered why there was nothing happening when I pressed play

I usually walk to tesco for lunch. It's only 5 mins walk from work.
The other day i had to go into the bank first, so i drove into town and stopped at tesco on the way back.
...then walked back to work and forgot my car >.<

that reminds me I was looking for the non urgent emergency call number to report my car stolen a few years back when I realised I had driven it (for some stupid reason) the 30s to the local tesco then walked back...! luckily I realised before I found the number...
