Timing out...

I've had this problem for a long time now, but I want it to stop. So basically if I download a file, any size usually above 20mb, then it times out. I've tried tons of sites and the files always time out.

Example, I was downloading the Splinter Cell demo yesterday and it times out at around 50mb through.

No matter what I download from a website it will always time out/freeze and I have to start from 0 again and it happens again.

But if I download from Xfire or with P2P or torrents or whatever, they don't time out, probly due to the reason they can resume.

But why is downloads from the net always timing out? I don't have a clue whats causing it or how to fix it.

Help appreciated.

Use a download manager short term, but as you tell us nothing about the type of connection you have or the way you connect to it I have no choice but to blame the Smurfs :) I blame them for most things in such cases.

Joking aside more info would increase the chances of a helpful reply significantly.

ISP ? Modem/Router model ? You using wired or wireless ? Anyone else share your connection ? They have the same problem ?

Telewest, Router (jetway) external surfboard modem, wired (cable), yes. Not too sure, don't think so. I'll check up though.
