Tiny bubbles normal on tint job?

Hello

I need help/advice from anyone who had their car windows tinted or from a professional who does tinting.

I've had my car all windows tinted 13days ago for £150, now it appears after closer inspection that there are like 100(more than 10 on every window maybe 50 on the rear windscreen) tiny specks/bubbles scattered on all of the windows. I then inform the company where I had it tinted and I was told to take some pictures of the bubbles and email it to them, after a few hours a tinter from their company rang me and told me that he'll do the rear windscreen only because I am very picky, he told me that tiny specks of dirt are normal and no company can do a perfect job, I then said a few maybe less than 10 could be reasonable, but a hundred is not acceptable.

I am going back to the shop on Monday to have that back windscreen redone, and he said he'll have a look at the other windows and I've got a feeling that he won't do the other windows, if thats the case can anyone please help me what to do.

Am I being reasonable or am I being picky? I am not really sure what a normal finish tint job suppose to be.
Is it normal to have more than 10 tiny bubbles on each window?

Many Thanks in advance

Get back in touch with the people who fitted them.

I had my windows done on my previous car and something was contaminated, it left the same sort of number of bubbles, they came straight back out and re-applied it, spot on after.

You may get a couple of bubbles but they should dissapear after a couple of days, if not then call them back out.

Telling them to take them off and refund is a bit strong, at least give them chance to correct it first! I'd expect maybe 2 or 3 small bubbles max, it seems pretty impossible to get them absolutely perfect, but they certainly shouldn't be noticeable at all.

Yeah, but given the attitude they have and coming up with excuses of "tiny specks of dirt are normal and no company can do a perfect job" i don't think i'd want to give them my custom.

The only problem I ever had was the black print around the edge of some windows as they are embossed(?) so the tint lays across, other than that you shouldn't be able to tell it's even got a film on let alone bubbles or specks of dust.

"he told me that tiny specks of dirt are normal and no company can do a perfect job"

Pure rubbish, windows should be cleaned and any dust / dirt should be removed prior to the tints being fitted.

Just looked at the pictures thats hurrendous.

Refund or tading standards personally.

i had mine done on the fiesta for 120 and there isnt a single bubble or mark anywhere.

I'll put money on he has done them outside because it's warm and dust has gone on the window.

Very much appreciated for all your help
I am going back to the shop on Monday and I'll make them redo all the windows that has faults. its not going to be easy and surely they'll argue with me first and tell me all fibs.
I'll let you all know whatever the outcome is afterwards.

I tinted my windows myself and had no problems with random specks/bubbles. They are very very good in fact.

If I can DIY them and do a good job, there's no reason why a professional outlet shouldn't be perfect.

Out of interest how old are you? Your reflection makes you look pretty young, when you go back make sure you take your biggest mate, dad or uncle. Sounds silly but many people think they can just fob young people off without any comeback.

If you are beyond 20 and a bit wise then ignore what I say, just go in there and take no bull :-)

Shouldn't have any bubbles at all if it's been done properly.

Did they also tint your driver and passenger front windows? If so, then IMO they aren't a professional outfit as you can't have any additional tint added to them and a professional would know that and advise that you shouldn't tint them.

The tinters will thoroughly clean the inside of each window before applying the tint to get rid of any dust, which is what causes the bubbles.

shouldnt be any bubbles . id maybe accept one or two

i wouldnt name the company on here either unless they get nasty. never ever ends well.

Which part of the country are you in?

There shouldn't be bubbles, 1 or 2 you'd forgive them for but not that much!

Edges are hard to do.

I went to the shop today, supposed to be yesterday but then they phoned me 10mins before my appointment and told me they couldn't make it. so this morning I showed them most of the bubbles and they've decided just to remove the tint and gave me a refund.

I am now again looking for a tint shop around cardiff/caerphilly area, can anyone recommend a good company for me?

Thank you
