Hi guys I'm really excited to be able to finally persuade my wife to spend some money she recently came into on her pc. I'm proposing a totally new system for gaming but do not need monitor, mouse, keyboard, headset, speakers. Only the tower minus SSD and windows and as small and powerful as possible.

No SSD needed as I gave her one of mine for installing her already owned windows 7 x64 on so no windows needed either.

She will be playing modern games like battlefield 4 and mmos like wildstar at top settings or as close as possible so grunt is required! Preferably overclockable so I can tinker for her too. Budget is slightly flexible.

So excited as I know any graphics card can fit into these upcoming and recently released micro pcs!

The mATX one would get my vote. Love those Dead Silence cases.

Personally i'd suggest this,

These mATX cases aren't much bigger than the current stream of ITX cases around.

This allows more money to spend on a better board and means you don't have to use an AIO, which aren't great value..

Personally i'd save even more on the board and grab a gigabyte Z87M-D3H.

The K2 is a great cooler for the money (it used to be £60, and still a bargain at that).

Needs a hard disk, the op says he has a ssd but will need a hard disk to store data and programs on(the ssd depending on the capacity will only have enough space for the os plus a handful of programs).

I sure do need a regular HDD the old ones in the old system are ancient.

Would a 770 run cooler by the way? Are 280x cards 7970s cos those were cool enough when I had them? ps all good ideas but if someone can think of something that aesthetically beats either of the above let me know as those are both very likely close to final build.

The 770 will run cooler the the 280X is the faster/better card.

I think the 280X is well worth it.
