Hi.
We all know the obvious candidates for doing well this season both in domestic leagues & the champions league(Henry, Sheva, Ronaldinho, Lampard, Terry, Kaka, Ballack, ect; )

But what players do you lot tip for greatness this season?
Players that have been critisised in the past or are relative unknowns? Or both.

Should be interesting to see what predictions come true at the end of the season. :)

I put forward:

Relative Unknown: Yoann Gourcuff
Young frenchman who's got a style similar to Kaka, very skillful player, fast & has got an excellent shot on him. Milan bought him on the cheap, and i think he'll suprise a few if he gets some games in the CL.

Critisised: Alberto Gilardino
Yet to prove himself in the CL, but he's excellent in the league & had an ok WC. I think this season he'll finally settle into Milans style and start banging them in, in the CL.

You lot now. :)

I can name a few players from Arsenal & United to, but i'll leave it for you lot to come up with them...

-Nicolas Bendtner to shoot Brum back into the premiership (he's a better striker than Walcott - FACT)
-Steve Sidwell to impress the big boys prior to Chrimbo and setup a multi-million pound move in January
-Sol Campbell to solidify the pompey defence and steer them well into midtable.
-Lee Catermole to oscilate between the sublime and the ridiculous. On his day he reminds me of Gerrard (lollerskates!)

Maybe more to follow later

Both Good players. Bendtner is quailty, he should make it as he's still young, as are the other 2 lads Brum got from us. Seb is a quality player :)

Sidwell was unlucky at Arsenal he was never going to get past someone like Vieira, Wenger has said he may buy him back in the future, thats how good he could be :)

Francisco Merida Perez - The next Cesc. Stolen from Barca too :D

Crouch. Last year Benitez used him as a forward to create chances for our midfielders and he did that job very well. He didn't score as many goals as he should've but his overall contribution to the team was excellent. This year Benitez seems to have changed the teams style and that will hopefully give Crouch more freedom to get in the box and score and silence the critics who gave him so much unfair stick last year.

May be a bit predictable from me but im tipping Sissoko to go on and be regarded as a true World Class defensive midfielder.
He does the Makelele role of breaking up attacks but doesn't just do it infront of his own 18 yard box but all over the pitch and he has a truely unbelievable engine and has improved his ability on the ball aswell.

One to watch will be Sergio Aguero. Recently signed for Athletic Madrid, so should see him with the La Liga coverage on SS. Another Messi they say, The Argies sure are churning out some major talent!

Kalou looks like he could hold a place if Mourinho has anything to do with it. Would like to see more of him, can really hold the ball up well. Tip him to do well this season.

Not an unknown or criticised but I can see Saha being top scorer this season.

I'd also agree with whoever tipped Sol to show impressive form all through the season and help Pompey solidify a mid-table finish.

charles n zogbia.

this guy will be an important french international soon enough.

this guy will be chased by the best clubs in europe i think in a few year, he is class, full of great potential.

darren bent, class forward. dean ashton, great forward.

would have gone for Anderson at Liverpool but with all the new signings he'll be back to the reserves / Carling Cup now. Still only young though.

Other than that, Dan Agger for Liverpool looks very promising.

I'm tipping Aiden McGeady. He's a good young Scottish player, very tricky on the wing and cuts inside well. He's threatened for the last couple of seasons but WGS seems to think it's his time. He'll do well for Celtic and Ireland.
