I know this has been done before, but i'm just curious about how people feel about tipping when they've paid online, as opposed to paying cash at the door.

If i've paid online, it's usually because I don't have any cash in the house (which I rarely do), but I'm assuming the delivery ppl are still expecting a tip?!

Does anyone else pay online and not give an extra tip, or am I just stingy? :p

I would have done a poll, but I can't find the option to start one :|

Why the hell would you tip for delivery or takaway.

Tipping is for outstanding customer service at a restaurant. Not for every tom, dick and harry.

If you get something regularly from the same place, some people have found tipping gets you extras. But in sense your just buying those extras anyway.

If people would stopped tipping, we might actually get decent service in the UK, but when the majority of people tip regardless of what happens. Why should waiters try hard.

depends how much it comes to but I usually just let them keep the change e.g. order is 13 quid and I hand em 15 quid, they can keep the change.

order online: I'd chuck a couple of quid to the delivery person if I have change.

I certainly never bother. Specially since most of them are grumpy gits who smoke in their cars and make my pizza taste like carp.

Well I always assumed everyone tipped them? lol

Plus they always give me this 'look' when I pay them lol, kinda like a 'oh, is that it?' kinda look! haha (shortly before I shut the door in their face!) :D

But yeah, I already feel put out by the fact i've just forked out about £20 for what is essentially some grease soaked dough lol mmmmmmmm

I usually just tell them to keep a couple of quid if I pay cash.

If I order online, I wouldn't give them anything else...

Never ever tip when payed online! (especially as the pizza guy round here is some depressed old man who always makes me feel bad when im eating far too much pizza for one person...)

Mate always tips a little (the change usually) and always pays on delivery, but thats because he used to be a delivery boy pre uni :D

as an ex pizza delivery guy cheets64's thought are about averrage, and you can make about £20 a night in tips just from people saying keep the change... anything else is ott unless we have done loads like if you've ordered like 10 pizzas and live miles from the shop, it was very very rare to get tips on credit card orders

also spare a thought for pizza delivery guys, usually when i was doing it to get the pizza there on time you'd have to drive at frankly dangerous speeds and because of the cost of delivery insurance you'd be basically uninsured....

I never tip when I order online - they get paid to deliver... do you tip your mail man?
Or when I do a job, can I expect a tip? :p

I tip any service when I feel the person in hand has gone beyond the call of duty for me. If they're just doing their job, then not a chance. Sorry if that offends anybody.
