Tipping

Are we sposed to tip pizza delivery drivers these days? :o

Can if you like.. We don't have the same sort of tipping culture as some other places though. In the US 'tippable' jobs don't tend to pay enough without tips, so tips are really important. Pizza drivers don't get paid too badly over here though, so I don't often bother.

I used to a bit more, but the **** from Pizza Hut round here tries to tip himself and I have to go 'oh, you seem to have ACCIDENTALLY MISCOUNTED my change there mate' and get it back. Cheeky git.

Plus I'm already overpaying hugely for a pizza, I don't want to splash out even more:D

^ not funny

no, we don't need to tip them... i dunno why they bother in America, probably cause they barely get paid (like those restaurants where you have to PAY to be a waiter, cause the tips are so good.. lol)

I live in a small town so my way of thinking is this. Tip the dude and get your pizza delivered first next time. Reason for this is you remember people in a small town rather than being lost in a sea of faces. I'm always real nice to Anyone who is handling my food.
thinking about it though my age is definetly mellowing me out, i had the Jovos round the other day and was even nice to them, overly nice in fact :p

I always feel REALLY cheap tipping a couple of quid though..I dont know why :/ it just feels patronising...I expect them to throw it back in my face or something..

but if i dont tip them, i feel guilty and think they are gonna add some of their own extra sauce to my next order :/

My local McDonalds got closed down for 3 days because the staff were adding their own "Gentlemans Relish" to the burgers.

FACT.

They just opened a lap dancing bar here in Stratford, I was getting in a round at the bar and the barmaid was outrageously attractive, so I was all set to let her keep the change from the twenty I handed her for 4 drinks, when she asked me for another £1.50

I've not been back since.

I usually pay online by debit card and don't tip. If I was paying cash I'd probably let them keep a reasonable amount of change.
