Tips for applying window film?

So I bought a roll of opaque frosted glass style window film (this stuff https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B2L7XNYN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 ) to put on the bottom part of a double mirrored wardrobe.

This is bacause when my dog sleeps on my bed, sometimes if he catches a glance of his reflection he'll growl at it and wake me up, so I figured I'd try this.

Any tips on how to get it straight and bubble free? I'll need to fit 2x sheets 60x80cm

*its not adhesive apparently, it's 'static cling, apply with water'.

You just clean the window first, dry, can add a extremely small bit of Fairy liquid to help adhere, and apply the sheet. Any bubbles can be scraped out with a ruler etc. Impossible to get wrong if the window is cleaned properly.

Mate over the road does car tinting - Watching him he put's a load of soapy water on window (after it's been cleaned well) and sprays a bit on tint. Slaps it on and uses a small plastic pad type thing to set it in - Just run the bubbles to the edge all round.
If you have some spare cut a bit off and practice on another window - I used my shed window.
it really is easy but you need the water. If it's dry it sticks and you can't move it if needed.

Just a little, but dont be afraid to put lots of water on, you push the water out with a plastic blade / squeegee type thing to get it to stick.

I used a tile squeegee worked quite well.

Also, if you do it, then find like an hour later you've got like lots of tiny little bubbles under it, don't stress that's normal, they disappear in a few days

Enough to float the film and then position it and ease out the water and any bubbles with as mentioned above.

I've used an old bank card before.

Yes this is important, came to say this. We recently had several windows tinted to reduce how hot the house gets in summer and we found after application there was lots of tiny bubbles left over - but do not worry about them, they go away after a week or two

Applying the static stuff is the same as the sticky stuff. Lots of water so it only sticks when you want it to.
There are some films that are porous so small bubbles don't matter, they will clear by themselves. If the film is porous, it will say it is!

As has been said already, lots of water!

Get a misting spray bottle and make up a water/dish soap mix, just a few drops, no need to go too mad with it. Spray the glass. Begin to take the backing sheet off the film and spray the back of the film. Keep spraying the film as you peel the backing sheet off, this will stop the film from sticking together. If the glass has started drying give it another spray. Put the film to the glass and smooth it out to try and keep the amount of big bubbles to a minimum. Squeegee from the centre outwards.
