I just cannot get the hang of them! I've alright with a mouse and keyboard but i just can't get to grips with using two small joysticks to do the same thing! I really don't want to cop out and "cheap" by getting a keyboard and mouse thing for my 360! I'm just really really poor!

Practice, practice, practice.

Buy COD2, phone for pizza and get a load of beer in. Turn the phone off, get rid of the mrs for the day.
Make sure you invert the Y axis and turn up the sensitivity. Turn off auto aim.
Switch it to Veteran and go for it.

Seriously, you'll get used to it. As a Doom, Quake, etc etc. fan I thought I'd never like it but I actually prefer it now.

Juts practise mate.

After week of playing Rainbow Six Vegas (my first ever console game) I’m now quite use to the controller and too found it actually more comfortable and natural than a keyboard with mouse.

And if you forgetting what each joystick responsible for, just think of it as keyboard (left) and mouse (right).

It really does come down to practice. Play the games through in hard to extrieme by the end you will feel very compfortable with the controls.

COD2 as mentioned is a brilliant game to develop your FPS skills

I personally think the Halo games are too (the halo controls are imo the standard)

you'll just have to practice and get used to it. it may be easier to "move" until your crosshair is over someone rather than pure aiming as its so clumsy.

eg. you need to aim slightly left, so it can be easier to strafe left rather than aiming left if you get me

either that or abuse weapons which require no aim lol!

I actually prefer the pad now too. I find it much more comfy lounged on my settee instead of hunched over a desk ;)

As said, practice with it. Its not done me any good though, lol. :)
