Hi guys, i have 2 5850's, one twin frozr and one sapphire, but currently i don't use them in crossfire as i'm using one in a very old system, and i only game at 1080p anyway.

I have never really messed around with GPU overclocking etc, though i did have my twin frozer oc'd before, but changed it back to stock.
My question is, i have heard about flashing the 5850 with the 5870 bios. Could someone tell me if this is stable? Is it worth it? what are the risks?
And finally, Could someone point me in the right direction? the answers to the above questions are ositive of course:)

cheers guys:)

If you have a problem when flashing, you'r in trouble.
It would probably be easier to just use afterburner to set the clocks to 5870 or more.

Imo no, in the case of the 5850 flashed to 70, all you would achieve is higher clocks and higher ccc limits which can be done with afterburner with no risk.

If something goes wrong with the flash. You would need a mb with twin pcie slots in order to flash the faulty one back to stock.
