I've just set up my first water cooled PC and my pump mcp355 seems quite loud

Its mounted to a XSPC 5.25" Dual Drive Bay Reservoir its the loudest thing in my system any tips

Any pump hard mounted to the case (via a res or just directly fixed) will be loud.
It's the vibrations that a spinning pump make.
Uncupple the bay res - rotate 90 degree and bungee mod is one way
If the drive cage is wide enough sit it on a gel pack/foam

Or buy a different res.

You could link the mcp355 to a fan controller and slow it down

If you've watercooled your pc to reduce it noise - a bay res is ok, a bay res/pump combo not so good - sorry

know any good fan controllers that work with pumps

isolate the pump from the bay or isolate the bay from the case

my pump and header tank are external in an alloy case and all i have is foam under neath it and rubber mounts no noise at all high density foam works wonders

I think, other than slowing the pump (which doesnt remove the issue), the only way to do this would be with anti-vibration mounts. Which for a 5.25" bay is generally limited to a rubber washer under the fixing screw.
