Tips for tweaking Armed Assault?

Anyone any tips for tweaking armed assault? It runs but its not smooth. I'm running it on a latop with a 7900GS/2GB Ram and a 2Ghz Core 2 Duo.

What settings do you have it on in the options menu?

Turn off Transparancy AA in the AA control panel, it makes a big difference on my system, also drop the viewing distance down to about 1000.
And apply the latest 1.08 patch.

How do you unlock the items in the area where you can view/try different guns, Helli's etc.

doing the missions and single missions.
also by doing the objectives in the armoury.

best tweak i found for armed assault was to click start > armed assault > uninstall, worked better than any others, cause it really runs that bad with any AA and AF and highest settings, without them you may as well be playing operation flashpoint

was it really that bad with Your Sistem in specs ? I was just about to download the game, since friends of mine from AAO community suggested it to me , well i am getting 2900 next month anyways , but well ! Ill try it i guess! uhmm dunno if it will like my old 850 haha

Basically, it's designed as a sim. Sims need tweaking. People don't seem to realise that it's actually a very good looking game and that maxing out all the settings isn't going to be much good.

The 1.08 patch has made a big difference but im sure this game doesnt fully utalise cards with large amount of VRam or multi core Cpu's.
I still notice a lot of HDD activity whilst playing.
But it is a very good looking game.
