I would like to paint the inside of my TJ07 prior to a new build. Power coating is too expensive, so I want to give it a coat of black myself. Any tips on preparation and the paint to use? Does in sealing with a lacquer after. All the internals are natural alluminium.

Thanks

i used plastikote paint

use three cans [1 primer, matt top coat]
i used matt finish but you can use satin for a gloss finish

one layer of primer matt

then a thin layer daily for about a week
allow it to cure for a day between coats and keep it out of dust

Thanks! Thats the look I wanted. Did you sand/wire wool the the internals first? Just have to move my current gear out of the TJ07 and into a cheap case so I can make a start.

You will want to use etch primer as it eats into the metal for a better hold than normal primer then a coat of grey primer ontop.
