Hi all, long time pc builder, short time high end laptop owner. Im beyond stunned with the performance available in laptops today. Can you imagine telling someone 5 years ago that they would be able to run the latest AAA games at 120fps in a laptop half as thin as theirs? Really impressed.
Now i so far have only used it at the wall but have been doing a little testing with the battery. Needless to say this is my first venture into battery gaming in however many years it's been and a lot has changed. So first my experiences and what i find is happening for me on battery.
Nvidias battery booster runs the games down to 60fps and in some cases lowers some graphical settings. It seems to do a very good job at keeping games capped at 60fps IE rise of the tomb raider my average frame rate in bench marking is 59.97. Now i tried turning battery boost off, and yes i got many of my frames back however the experience just wasn't the same as it became a stuttery mess. Dipping into the low 30's. I suspect this is something to do with power delivery limitations?
I unparked the cores on the system and the issue of dipping still occurs. So now im trying to think/tinker/find out if there are any recommended software setups to provide the best on battery experience balance for FPS/Quality.
Any advice/recommendations would be truly welcome.
Also below is the laptop in question so you can see specs/power ect.
