Tips to convert to Intel

Decided to jump the AMD ship and move to Intel.

New 'bits'

E8400
Tunic Tower
Asus p5K Premium
4gb(2x2gb) DDR2 Dominator PC2 -8500

Other bits coming from existing comp:-

2x250gb Hitachi HD's(Raid 0)+ 160gb spare Maxtor
9800GTX
Pioneer Blueray Drive+ DVD drive
Terratec TV card
windows xp (home) - I know it wont see all the ram - next upgrade is o.s.
x-fi extreme music
700w Coolermaster M psu

Any advise appreciated as will be looking to build at the weekend

P.S. Upgrading from Opty 185(clocked at 2.76)on Asus A8N32 with 2gb pc4000 ram

Forgive me, but I can't see where you are wanting the advice? Are the bits at the top not yet bought and you're asking for feedback on them? or something else?

Sorry for causing any confusion - have bought all new bits & will be building 'new' pc at weekend.

Since Pentium 166 have only used AMD - so a little concerned that I might well make a few mistakes when building purely because it'l be my '1st' Intel /DDR2build.

No doubt will I manage a few 'dumb' errors

but would like to keep'em to a minimum

You dont really have to bother with a fresh windows as its capable of just switching drivers... (i did the same thing a few months ago).

would very much appreciate advise as to how to do this !!!!

remove old drivers,

Presume you mean motherboard drivers.

As I have a nvidia chipset then I could , simply, remove all nvidia drivers etc BUT this also removes the nvidia raid drivers/set up I'm using

Is this a problem ?

New board will presumambly have its own raid set up.
