It's getting to that time when I'm going to buy a new 2Tb HDD and reinstall windows. This time I'm upgrading from windows XP home to XP Pro (as I have both versions). I also have a Norton ghost of my disc on my external HDD.

So, without too much ado, is there a quick and simple way to reinstall all my apps. or do I have to spend the best part of a day reinstalling everything and updating everything?

I'm also wondering how much bandwidth am I going to use - since steam and other apps now are pretty big? I have a 17Gb per month limit so ideally wouldn't want to use it all up,

steam is easy back'd up so that shouldnt use any bandwidth atall, its all in the menus, just create an image and then use it to load all your games back onto the pc.

all you can really do with the programs is gather them before hand on a usb stick or dvd so you can roll them off one at a atime, as for windows update, its xp so i dont think there will be much way around that mate sorry, its going to need a few updates, my best advice and i dont like peddling microsoft software but an os upgrade to 7, really is a pc friendly os if you have the money for it.
