After watching the Worthington cup final defeat, I finally lost faith in Sir Alex Ferguson. I, like many fans was pinning hope on the Worthington cup as being the saviour to our season. Now that it has gone, what hope do we have?

I think that Fergie should have stepped down last season, he is looking for that second Champions League trophy. IMO Man Utd won't win anything this season, it hurts me to say that because I am a Man U fan.

I feel that Fergie is far past his best days, his managerial ways are old and stale. Man Utd should appoint a new manager to bring a fresh approach to their game.

I also think that certain players such as Giggs, G. Neville, Blanc and Silvestre should also be shown the door. Silvestre would be much better at centre back, but he has no chance with Rio and Wes ahead of him in the pecking order.

Once the fringe and under-performing players have sold, newer, younger and more ambitious ones can hopefully be purchased. IMO Harry Kewell, Wayne Bridge, Philippe Mexes and a pacey centre forward, like Djbril Cisse would make a squad to be reckoned with.

Well when you consider that Man Utd have been the dominant force in English football for the past 8 - 10 years or so and the amount of money that has been invested in buying players.....it just doesn't make sense.

no, I agree, it's ludicrous. Maybe it's just the supporters who've known no different and don't understand football is about losing aswell as winning. Or 'not winning' in Man Utd's case as they've hardly had a bad season.

Fair point, as a Man Utd fan I'm used to seeing them win. Yes, football is about winning and losing fair enough, but when they get results like drawing against Bolton and then playing Juve off the park.... its just ridiculous. There have been too many below par games this season....for any team who are the same standard as Man Utd.

huh!!!! ???? HUH!!!! ?????

Pinning our hopes on the Worthy Cup. Its hardly like were
bottom of the league and out of the CL is it.

8 years of not bothering with the mickey mouse cup and then
we get near the final and some supporters think its the be all
and end all.

That's not the point...the point is that the mickey mouse was our best chance of silverware right from the start of the season...and thats just embarrassing.

This is truely messed up, you have qualified for champions league, you still could win league and champions league. Even if you dont you should be happy with the season, how about trying to support a team that loses every week and is facing relegation, then see how you would feel.

If your upset at Man Utd you'd probably top yourself if you supported Sunderland or West Brom.

This just goes to show that Man U fans are glory supporters and it makes me sick to my stomach.

Just because I'm upset with the set up at Man Utd doesn't mean I am a glory supporter, I still support them and I always will.

The thing is that with Man utd there is a certain expectation that they should at least finish as runner up in the league, do well in domestic cup competitions and qualify for the last 8 of the Champions league for example. These are all realistic targets of which only the CL is currently going to plan.

With a club that starts the season with relegation a possibility, the fans won't be as upset if they are in a dogfight. It is what was expected of the club.

Hmmm:

as current things stand:

Runner up in League
Finalist of 1 domestic cup, knocked out by potential winner in FA cup.
Already qualified for the next round of the CL.

So really they are bang on for the 'certain' man u expectations surely?

Well finishing runner-up in the mickey mouse is hardly anything to get excited about.

What round were we knocked out in the FA cup??

Who's the best opposition we've played in the Champions league?...Juve and Deportivo, we've had an easy ride so far.

No club is happy with a relegation dogfight, the fans certainly arent. What kind of fan looks forward to the season and says "Great relegation this year". Fans and teams always expect to do well.

I didn't say they would be happy with a relegation scrap, I said they would not be upset as they would expect to have a tough time.

Fans and teams always expect to do well.

So you're saying West Brom fans at the start of this season expected to do well?
