Tired of the crashes in BF2142

Does anyone else experience a high volume of crashes in bf2142? Sometimes its immediate, sometimes I can be playing for 5mins , but oddly enough other times I can be playing all day and it's fine. It's either a freeze+looping sound sometimes followed by system restart or most times just a CTD. If anyone can advise me which Nvidia drivers they are using with this game I'd appreciate it.
 
is this the only game your having problems with ? id say it could be a conflict of drivers ... i recently patched to 1.4 and it broke 2142, i had to re-install fresh deleting the old 2142 file from my docs , re-patch and set permissions to admin for it to work,, so far no crashes or sound problems like you mentioned

vista home pre 32bit, 8800 gtx 169.04 drivers

try :-
uninstall 2142
delete or rename your 2142 folder in My Documents
install 2142
install full patch
install northen strike addon
install full patch
 
bf2142 is annoying....

now with the 1.4 patch

sometimes itll load a loadout profile that i never have selected so i need to redo it all over again

sometimes join a server and no weapons except default available

impossible to alt+tab out without game crashing :/

The more going on in the server (ie more people on, explosions whatever) the more demanding it is on your system : to the extent that i now play it at minimum graphics settings even though my computer can easily handle high settings.

To get round this just use Ctrl/Alt/del never crashes :)

Have you got rivatuner/ati tool etc running and do you have latest punkbuster?
 
Ive given up on 2142, seems to have fewer players now and bf2 still has a good amount plus less crashes!
 
Ive given up on 2142, seems to crash for me too. Ive gone back to bf2, less crashes and more players!
 
well I seem to have resolved this by deleting the radial.cdb file every so often. Not an ideal solution but works for a while then have to start over.
