Tiscali and Speed Caps - Line Unstable

Hi All

One of my clients has tiscali broadband. They have set the line speed to 2mb.

Now basically the line keeps disconnecting, hundreds of times a day. Bt have checked the line and said its fine, as I suspected.

I have stuck the number into Samknows, which reckons the max they should get is 512kb.

Tiscali are being pains in the *** and wont regrade the line to a slower speed, even though our data rate is capped at 512kbps anyway.

Here are the stats >
Upstream 288000
Downstream 2272000
SNR 8.0
Attenuation 50.5

Any ideas how to get this sorted?

Migrate away from them to someone better?

Either keep hassling Tiscali to downgrade them to 1Mbps or 512Kbps or migrate to an ISP with a competant tech support who will. Can't do much more than that.

One thing to try would be to see if it does the same plugged directly in to the master socket though.
