Tiscali probs

Hi this is for me sister really, am stopping at her house for 2 weeks and her net is woefully slow in the evenings, i have checked some sites and it says the exchange is green so i assume that means its not overloaded.

For example i can get the full speed in the day but soon as night comes am lucky if it downloads at 40kbs, now is more than likely to be tiscali.

Irrelevant - that data's for IPStream and Tiscali use a combination of LLU and DataStream (at last count)

Good old congestion, probably with a hint of Tiscali's traffic shaping. Best advice would be to move to a better ISP.

well iv just got in (ordered by the other half) tiscali max 8mb

i get a whopping 19kbs download speed day or night, it rocks

Oh man i feel for you, glad i left when the shaping started, what a joke, your paying for an 8mb connection, and they are giving you less than a 256 one, man they have got your pants well and truly down, i bet its about £30 a month as well, man for 19k.

This is painfull tbh, its ok after like 12ish nights and upto 3pm, but from 3pm too 12 ish its pathetic, dl atm at 24kbs.lol, not sure if its exchange congestion or them shaping.

Be the shaping, when i left the shaping hrs were from 8am till 1am, and its taking the pee as most of the off peak hrs are inside the shaping hrs as well, so during those off peak hrs you get the 24ks or whatever it is to.
