We've had a tiscali router in the office and due to it not being able to be picked up by two laptops 2 meters away from the other two that seem to work fine, we've finally replaced it with a belkin. Problem is that the belkin won't accept the tiscali username and password for the modem. Not sure what's wrong because I'm using the same details. This is really doing my nut in. I can't seem to connect to the router settings even when the router i try to access the router settings through my browser.

Are you uising the tiscalli username and password to try and log into the router? cause usually it's something like:

Username: admin
password: (default password usually located in manual)

Once you're logged into the router, that's when you you fill out the settings for the internet using your username and password.

I can't even log into the router. I'm talking about the account password menu in the setup CD on the belkin router. I assume I have to put in the account and password I made with tiscali, not the default router settings.

When you navigate to the router in your web browser, and when it asks you to input a username and password to log into the router, you use the username and password that was supplied with the router. Once you've logged into the router then you generally navigate to a page and enter your ISP details, which in this case will be your tiscalli account username and password.

edit: also a model number of the belkin router would be brilliant ta.

G Wireless Modem Router F5D7634-4. When I was using the setup CD it wouldn't accep my tiscali account username and password. This router doesn't come shipped with a password. I was using 192.168.1.1 to try and access it. I didn't realise it was 192.168.2.1.

Everything is fine apart from the fact the belkin router isn't accepting my tiscali username and password. The old router is working now. If I disconnect the NAS then let the router connect to the net and then turn it on everything seems to work, this defeats the point of buying the new router now and I bet if I return it the other router will start playing up again.
