Hi,

Don't post in this section much so be kind :)

I'm with Tiscali at the mo and have have been for a few years now. Eveyrthing has been okish.

However, I'm sure soemthing has changed recently. For example, I always used to get an ingame ping to 36 ms, but are now at 55 ms (maidenhead). I've also just noticed that my IP is located in Scotland too - I'm in the UK.

Does anyone know if soemthing has recently changed as everything really does feel slightly sluggish lately.

Am thinking of moving to BE - as their site says I can get 12 MB.

Would have recommended O2 but they have also turned to the darkside. Which is a shame because when I moved from Tiscali to O2 i went from 3.5mb to 8mb.

BE are probably the best way to go until then too start being restrictive.

Am very tempted by be unlimited now - they even let you have a 3 month contract for 3 extra per month.

i'm on pipex but i think they have also been taken over by talk talk. Got a letter through today saying they were upgrading my local exchange, Now instead of getting 1-2mb (it was meant to be 8mb) peek i'm getting 15mb ! :O Gob smacked to say the least !

I live in yeovil and we have had a copper line for ages and apparantly our line max was 6.5mb and sometimes it has gone up to that, but this is just lovely !

lucky for some, we are on vm 20mb broadband up in the north east and we were getting 0.2mb for 7 weeks, apparently it was our end, our modem, mam rang them up, and within 30 mins of putting the phone down, back up to around 12mb, they then sent out a new modem and knocked £25 off our next bill, and back up to around 19.5mb on my wireless upstairs, and i presume 20mb downstairs (dont use that pc, sucks compared to mine :P)

Migrate away as soon as possible!

I remember what Tiscali was like a couple of years ago. 250ms+ most evenings until 1am.

Hi,

Yes, I am experiencing this problem also.

I am a Nildram customer who were taken over by Tiscali...now Talk Talk. Don't bother phoning support they refuse to acknowledge any network changes, even though the number of hops required to reach most servers now has increased.

Let us get it clear, the line is stable and fast but as I am a gamer I prefer a lower ms to UK and especially NL based servers, used to ping 30-40, now its more 70-85.

I have noticed spikes which again support refuse to acknowledge and hard to track.

Unfortunately, after being a Nildram customer from 2003 I believe, I think I will now be moving away to Zen (1 Month contracts) then moving to Fibre once it arrives (Dec 2010).

Great choice tlrBeta. The Zen network is full of awesome sauce, not to mention the brilliant control panel & fantastic support team.

TalkTalk is good for basic web browsing and email only.
