Just a question.

As the Titan Amandas are TEC`s. If it is used as the Chip (AMD OPTY) comes, with the IHS on. The Bottom of the Heat sink fits the whole of the IHS.

Now with the IHS removed only a smal part of the HS fits the core.

Does this course a problem with the TEC.

The only problem will be that the HS will be more unstable on a naked core as there isn't as much surface area and as such you risk chipping/nibbling the core. You need to be extra carefull when mounting on a naked core because of this. Using a tec based HS will not cause any problems unless you consider lower temps to be a problem ;)

the Titan Amanda's TEC only kicks in after about 50C from what i have heard, so you shouldnt get any condensation problems that are the major worry with TECs. Stability might be an issue on the small core, could you add strips of insulating material (neoprene for example) around the edges of the core to add support to the HSF?

Never done any IHS removal myself, and i certainly wont with my nice new C2D "soldered on" IHS!

Managed to find some pictures of the base, so yeah there's a cold plate between the TEC and whatever you're cooling so removing the IHS won't have a negative effect.
