Hi, ihave my 4600+ at 2.5ghz with the stock amd hsf. what voltage is safe to put throught his (i had to use 1.7v to be stable at 2.75ghz but the fans wer LOUD, which means its way way too hot).

Also what votlage woudl you say the Titan Amanda can take??
Is this cooler really worth the money? or wil lanother one (at half the price) be sufficient.

thanks :D

not going watercooling cant afford :(
could i just have a bad clocker or could the heat be the reason it isnt stable. I have tried 1.5, 1.55, 1.6 etc etc volts at 2.75 (11x250)/ im using 250bus as my ram is pc4000. if you all recommend water for 1.7v i wont bother trying to overclock with any cooler :p

yeh i spose as long as u can afford £500 for cooling u could just buy a better cpu for tht :D

But that would be no fun. Its far more fun trying to get <£150 cpus work faster than >£700, even though the money you save has been spent on the cooling. The upside though is that the phase unit can be kept from system to system so it more of an investment IMO.

id recommend at least water.

looks like i will have to settle for a mere 2.5ghz then :) even that needs 1.375v. cpuz has reproted both ultra D's I have had to slightly undervolt by about 0.25v anyway. i think il save for a dx10 card and a quad core :D thanks for the replies

I am in a similar situation thinking about Amanda!!

Looks good and cool though have not seen many reviews yet. One I have seen (virtual PC I think) reviewed it with my mobo M2N32SLI and though it looks a bit of a pain to fit (removal of mobo) at least it clears all the on board heatsinks/pipes etc. It is on the pricey side but if it will get my 3800x2 (AM2) up to 2.8GHz (FX speeds) then I am prepared to pay for that.

Currently I am running stock cooler with my cpu at 1.49V @ 2520MHz which is ok bar for the high temps 62C full dual core load. So is there any chance that the Titan Amanda can deliver me 2.8GHz on my CPU??? I am prepared to run the CPU up to 1.6V but no higher, and I would like the 2.8GHz to be a stable 24/7 setting.

What do you guys think.

Jules.

PS Any of you lot have a Dremmel kit thing??? I am thinking of drilling some largish holes in the mobo case backpanel so I can access the screws of the Titan backplate . I would save me having to remove the motherboard each time I want to remove this heatsink. I have no experience of drilling holes through metal pc cases !!! lol
