Hi im looking at buying this system

Titan Dominator" AMD FX-8 8350 @ 4.4GHz Overclocked AMD Radeon Eight Core Gaming PC

what do you guys think of it?

im wondering whats the best case to choose inside those options can you please advise me abit

my current pc is a

Q6600
4gb ddr2 ram
670pe oc 2gb

no i dont want to build my own.

also it says at the bottom 2133mhz ram but in the options 1600mhz?

should i add a soundcard to the options or is the motherboard onboard fine?

also how much ram 8gb or 16gb , gaming only

It looks like a decent PC for the money, but a couple of questions:

What is your budget?

Which games do you play?

Do you need an OS?

The onboard sound will be fine, unless you're very particular about that kind of thing. 8gb is plenty.

well to be honest im looking to get the gfx card taken off it to deduct the price and just use my 670pe oc , is this a wise idea? should save me a little but they said i need to buy a 5450 silent so they can still do the stress test which is about £23

my budget is i guess around 500-600?

i play games like dayz ffxiv

on another note i just read the cpu cooler on there is pritty loud  what is your guys opinion on that and also is there a way i can ask them to add silent fans to the setup and cpu

also guys what about the case please?

Definitely keep the GTX670, better than the 270X, and not sure why you need to buy a gfx card, surely they've got loads lying around just to stress test?

From my experience the fans on the AIO coolers like the H80i are only loud at full speed, so maybe try them and change them if you need to later on?

Can't help with the case I'm afraid :)

Fulax would u say the Corsair Graphite 230T Gaming Case is worth getting then?

or should i go for the bitfenix

also the ram is 1600mhz C11 , and will cost about 60 for 8gb and 120ish for 16gb

isnt this abit slow? should i not be getting faster ram for that money can someone explain please

Didn't realise there was a choice of case :p I like the Graphite, but if it was my money I'd spend the extra £3 on the Bitfenix Ronin. I love a big window.

1600mhz C11 is pretty poor as far as RAM goes. Not that there is a huge performance difference, but it would probably be worth asking them to put in something either with higher speeds or with lower timings. These would go with the motherboard: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-134-KS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1387

You only need 8gb for gaming.

another other options for ram guys? is 2400mhz worth it? and will the motherboard support it? or what is my max , also timing i cant really see which to look out for truth be told

There is a balance between speed and timings that to be honest I'm not sure anyone truly understands. It probably is not something you really need to worry about. The difference in performance will only be noticeable if you spend your time looking at FPS counters rather than actually playing games. The problem I have with the Titan Dominator's standard RAM is that it combines relatively low speeds with relatively loose timings. It is a matter of debate whether high speed/loose timings trumps low speed/tight timings, but low speed/loose timings doesn't look great.

The motherboard in the Titan Dominator does not support 2400mhz - the maximum is 2133:

Memory: 4 x DIMM, max. 32GB, DDR3 2133(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066 MHz, ECC and non-ECC, un-buffered memory, Dual channel memory architecture

I repeat: you do not need more than 8gb for gaming. Eventually you will of course need more. But a bit more 'eventually' you will need 32gb RAM. And a bit more you'll need 64gb. For now and for the foreseeable future 8gb will be more than enough. And when you do need to upgrade, your motherboard will happily take another 2x4gb.

As others have said, I'd get some better ram, and he's probably advising 16Gb for the future years, right now 8Gb is enough but, it wasn't that long ago that 4Gb was enough!

If future proofing the system is a thing. We could say the same about the 270 & 550W PSU provided more so than the system memory I'd say and seeing at how fast the graphics industry is moving.

The build looks stable though. :3

Here is how I made my decision on RAM speed:
As I understand: if the board cannot do 2400MHz, the modules will run at the next supported slower speed until board and memory found a frequency they both support. Is it better to run 'slower' modules on it's highest speed or 'faster' modules at a slower speed?

The 2400MHz modules usually have a little more latency, but they say the higher speed will equalize this disadvantage. So if I run them at a lower speed, they will be actual slower than a pure 2133MHz module with less latency, I presume.

Comparing those two:

Corsair Vengeance Pro Red 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz
- Tested Latency: 11-13-13-31
- Voltage: 1.65V
vs.

Corsair Vengeance Pro Red 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MH
- Tested Latency: 11-11-11-27
- Voltage: 1.5V

The 2133MHz wins IMHO, because it uses less electricity and would run faster on this particular board.

Let's go with 2133MHz then.

Thanks!

hey thanks for the reply to explain guys , will any ram work in the amd motherboard or are some intel specific ?

do u recommend any fast 2133mhz ram for me please? in both 16gb and 8gb kits please at around the same price as the default ram in this build? thankyou

Do you plan on using 3D software like Maya n such because would you really need memory clocked that high seeing as it's a budget rig?

Could just get a lower clocked 8GB kit and put a bit more cash on the GPU seeing as you'll only be gaming on it. If you find your self playing BF4 with photoshop and a browser open you'd still have enough.

I don't think that the frequency upgrade is particularly worth it, you probably won't even notice the difference - I believe the only time that higher speed is worth it is if you go for an AMD APU where the graphics cores use the RAM for it's graphics VRAM.

True.

4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 2133(O.C.)/1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz ECC, Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory

Up to 2133mhz RAM, though 1600/1866 is perfectly good enough.
