Hi all
Thinking of replacing the fan on my Titan Fenrir with 2 Nexus PWM Series 120mm Quiet fans (already made an adaptor to fit another fan to other side of Titan Cooler )...and then replacing the exhaust fan on my Antec 902 case with the Titan fan ....connecting them all to a Akasa PWM splitter - smart fan cable AK-CB002

So basically i should have all 3 fans in a line pushing the air straight out the back of the case .....running off the cpu-fan 4 pin pwm socket on the motherboard and the splitter running of a power connector so not overloading motherboard .

What do think of this setup ? i would have thought it would work well as all the fan are running at same speed , roughly same cfm air flow for each fan (76cfm nexus / 78cfm titan) ,all in line and all fan are PWM .Also will be able to get rid of the case fan which is only controlled but 3 position speed controller which is hard to get to on mine as under a desk.

Im using a setup like that with that same akasa pwm splitter cable. I have 3 pwm sharkoon fans, (2 on a TRUE black) and my rear case fan, works extremely well. I can have the fans at 400 rpm which is extremely quiet, and if i need a bit of extra cooling theyre set to run full speed of 1200 rpm if the cpu temp goes above 60c.

well all the fans i have will have a max speed of 2000rpm ....so if need the extra cooling then can run them at that speed ...prob be a bit noisey but its there if need it ....can you set the speed in the bios ( say make them run at 1400rpm when temp goes up or will they run at max ? )

If one fan (titan) runs at 2000rpm when under prime test ( full load ) will the 3 fans run at 2000rpm or will they run at a lower speed cause the cooling is more efficient ?
If this is not the case could i then use the adaptor ( speed reducer / resistor ) that came with the titan cooler to make it run quieter ...plug it into the motherboard before the 3 way splitter so reducing the speed of all 3 fans ?

cheers

Just fitted 2 Nexus 120mm fan to the Titan cooler ( push/pull ) and then fitted the Titan fan where the rear exhaust fan was on the antec 902 case .....seems to work pretty well .
Seems quieter now ...plus getting roughly 4c drop in cpu temp even with the weather as warm as it is :)
so pretty happy with the setup !! don't really want to go down the watercooling route

I swapped with Tuniq Tower fan.

Runs a bit quieter than standardTitan fan at equivalent cooling.

Nice to be able to adjust fan speed from outside the case and to adjust speed to get the 'best'(for me anyway) balance speed/noise/cooling.

Blue glow.- not bothered myself but if you like such ...

Do like the Titan but was not too happy with the fan - too noisy with standard connection and not good enough at cooling when using connection designed to reduce noise.

Did consider buying a cheap fan controller

As such could be used , I assume, to get the right balance using Titan's own fan.

As I had the Tuniq's fan sitting idle I used that and no regrets/complaints.

When I was using the Tuniq as my cpu cooler I did try swapping its fan for the Noctua NF-P12 - didn't find it improved much at all.BUT it was as good so 2 in push/pull might be a good investment.??

Forgot to mention am running S775 not i7

with the 3 fans being controlled by the cpu-fan socket , when idle...you cannot really hear much ....and when full pelt they still seem quieter than the standard titan and rear case fan .
I hate the idea of have to reach round back to alter speed of the standard case fan , now its controlled by the cpu :) so when gets warm all 3 speed up .

hi ive just purchased a titan fenrir but the one on ocuk only shows one fan on it and looks like there is no way to fit another please show me how u did this please as i would love to do a push/pull setup allso.

cheers.

p.s photos would be great ;)

ohh im looking at reviews and it looks like even with lg775 socket it uses realy nice screw fixing not that rubbish push pins stuff is this correct?.

Could some one who has mentioned here that they have titan fenrir with push pull fans please give me a quide as to how they fixed the 2nd fan to the cooler, with pics if possible please please please
