I am looking to purchase the Titan Goliath, but would like some advice before purchase. Spec as follows:
- Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz D0 Overclocked to 3.40GHz! (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366)
- Gigabyte EX58-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
- OCZ Gold 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel Kit
- Akasa AK-967 Nero Direct Contact Heatpipe CPU Cooler
- ATI Radeon 4870 or 4890
- Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache
- LG GH22NS40 22x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM
- Corsair TX 650W ATX2.2 SLI Compliant PSU

I am looking at an Antec 300 case.
An ATI XFX 4870 or 4890
Swapping the Seagate Barracuda 500GB For a Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB
Swapping the LG Opical drive for a Lightscribe drive

Is anyone running an i7 920 in an Antec 300 case with any cooling issues. Case was chosen as I am restricted by cash and also case dimensions. I have been assured by Overclockers this is okay. I doubt I will be looking to overclock above 3.4GHz.
Is it worth spending the extra cash on the 4890, as I am not a big gamer.
Thoughts on the Samsung F1 swap, anyone with comments ?
Thoughts on the OCZ Gold DDR3 Memory ?
Could this setup be bettered without spending any more cash ?
I am also now looking at putting Windows 7 on as I have maxed out my budget on hardware. Anyone purchased a Titan Goliath recently and running Windows 7. I would love some feedback on how the install went (Any problems with it being overclocked) and any issues with drivers etc.
On a seperate note I noticed a post the other day that mentioned free delivery for forum members. Anyone confirm if this is true ?

Looks like an interesting spec, couple of questions, suggestions:

That there is a very powerful PC spec, what do you plan to use it for mostly? I ask because if you are not a massive gamer there may be better (and cheaper) configuration which can fulfil your needs.

Also, what monitor do you plan to use it with? you really should be looking at using a 22in+ to justify such an investment in the box.

But purely based on that spec, here are my suggestions/cooments :

OCZ RAM is fine - at that speed it will run perfectly.

AK-967 is not the most powerful cooler, but at 3.4GHz it should cope fine.

Antec 300 case is very well designed and allows for impressive cooling - so don't worry too much about that.

Personally, I would switch the DVD drive like you said (that LG does not write as well as others), this one is very good and does lightscribe.

The F1 TB is a very good drive, personally I would go with this one but its a bit more expensive.

Windows 7 will work fine with that PC - no problems at all.

The 4890 is a significantly more powerful than a 4870 - but £40 more. What level of gaming and what kind of games do you play? If its just casual games or the sims 3 - a 4870 is more than enough, if its crysis, ARMA 2 or the like - you may appreciate the extra graphical power.

As for swapping the components - will OCUK do that for you or do you have to do it yourself? If its the latter I would suggest just building the whole rig yourself.
