Titan Goliath

Just been looking at the Titan Goliath:

:- Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz Overclocked to 3.40GHz!
:- Gigabyte EX58-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
:- Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel
:- Corsair TX 650W ATX2.2 SLI Compliant PSU

3x2GB on an X58 board that only supports dual channel? Am I seeing things?
Or does it support tri across 4 slots? I notice three of them are white. How does this affect performance?

It is tri channel but basically you can only put 3 in, if you put a 4th in it becomes single channel, which I dont see why anyone ever would so Im not really sure why they put the 4th slot in at all tbh, basically youll be running 6 gig but I doubt most would ever need more anyway to be fair
