Titan Xenomorph - Thoughts?

Hey all,

Some of you may know me as I've been making a few threads about building a rig and I do apologise.

I was recently given a more accurate budget of around £550. However, I've been on the website making and changing all sorts of stuff trying to get an 'OK' build. However, with the need of almost everything, I found it very hard. Especially with 250GB hard drives being £77.

So, I wondered over to the 'Gaming systems' section of the forum, just have to have a look. I saw the Titan Xenomorph for £445 and was pretty interested.

I was just wondering what you people thought about it and if anyone knows how it runs? I know the graphics card ain't the best but I think it should do me. I've read all 50 reviews and people seem very happy with it. Because £445 is less then my budget, I decided to put a 6850 in there which pushes it up to £544. Basically, I was just wondering if you people would recommend me doing this in my situation? With the need of ram, a case, PSU, processor, motherboard, gfx, HDD, I just can't build a PC myself with the massive price increases.

Any thoughts are much appreciated,

Thanks.

personally would rather get this, also building your own rig has its benefits :P

Hey, thanks for the reply.

What about cooling? Do you not think I need a fan?

Hey, thanks for the reply.

The retail version of the processor comes with a heatsink and cooler, which will be sufficient unless you are thinking of heavily overclocking it.

The case has a rear 120mm fan and has space for 2 front 120mm and 2 on the side panels. You can pick up a couple 120mm fans for around a tenner.

Edit: Nevermind looks like I'm talking to myself. Rosslad read the whole thread before parting with your money ;)

I've checked my spec and changed the motherboard and PSU to what you recommened. Thanks for that.

How do you think this baby will run? I plan on playing games such as Diablo 3, GW2, SWTOR. Was just wondering based on the processor and gfx card?

I've had a change of mind and I'm thinking this might be better,

The i3-2120 is no slouch and will run any of them games fine. The biggest difference is in the GTX 560TI. Here's a comparison between the GTX 460 and GTX 560TI,

I suspect for gaming the performance gain from the GPU outways the performance loss of a i3-2120 down from the i5-2300.

Might want to wait for one of the big guns on here to confirm this. You will probably get a lot more advice later on when more people are online.

The problem is the hard drive is £20 more as it's on sale atm and I don't really plan on buying until nearer christmas time and i have a tight budget :L

You're best bet then is it repost when you're ready to hit the pay button. That way you're sure you're getting the best deal possible.

It's almost impossible to say 'this is the best build' weeks in advanced as prices are changing almost daily :p
