titan z or 980 ti?

I have a titan z atm, and have had for about 3 months, it hasn't had much use though because my last PC I sold was watercooled and this new PC I build I was gradually buying all the parts then going to WC as the titan z gets way too hot for any gaming plus its pretty capable as it can get 1200mhz @ silly volts like 1v so it makes me wonder what it can do under water... I have the block.. but not all the watercooling stuff like tubing/fittings etc, got the rads/pump still bnib..so could easily sell on

ive seen a 980 ti pretty cheap with a aio for it..
lets say.. less than 600

do I buy it and get rid of the titan z and never truly experience its power?
if I buy the 980 ti id just use the aio and get another aio for the cpu and save the hassle and money on custom cooling, we know it costs hundreds to custom WC

or do I keep the titan z and for-fill my dreams haha

When it comes to gaming 980 Ti is far superior to Titan Z. I would switch if you are not using Titan Z for development.

really? had no idea 980 ti was that fast, 99% of titan z reviews are done @ stock clocks ie 705mhz-876mhz hence why it gets beat by most, but when at 1200 each core it might be a different? even more so underwater?

980 will beat a 780ti/titan black.

980ti is roughly 150% of a 980.

SLI scaling is usually 60-80%.

Titan Z is two Titan Blacks, underclocked massively, so a 980ti should be faster than a stock Titan Z.

You have a hefty overclock, but the 980ti can overclock well anyway.

I'd say they are close to the same power but with far less headaches from the 980ti (SLI etc).

980Ti all the way, with a decent OC it makes the Titan Z irrelevant. If you ever were to SLI the 980Ti, the Titan Z would have it's tail between it's legs, even at 1200MHz! Think of WCing the Titan Z as shovelling way too much money on a old horse.

the stock cooler is decent but nothing special, it looks amazing probably the best ive ever seen, it gets to about 84c on stock fan curve in my case with no fans lol so it was pretty good.

but ive always wanted to WC it, I guess I could say im still in love with kepler..
the backplate as standard is really nice too & can be used with the EK block

it gets to about 1000mhz stock underwater, 46c each core cooled with only a 240mm ek rad and d5 pump

benchmarks ive seen on the titan x the titan Z is up to around 20-35% faster from what ive tested which is bf4 / metro 2033 & project cars so far

cant wait to oc it and get the cpu underwater too as my ram is only @ 1333
