Titan Z

I think I'll hold out for the 290x Dual!

Thing is if AMD do launch a dual GPU, Nvidia will launch the GTX 780Ti dual card with less vram, gimped compute as to not tread on Titan Z's toes. Just like GTX 780Ti VS 290X. The advantage Nvidia might have over a dual AMD is heat / noise and power consumption again..

Either way it plays out it's win win for Nvidia. Can you imagine AMD commanding this kind of price tag? It's genius really. Hats off to them.

This just seems like total gamesmanship, like others have said above.

4k hasn't taken off mainstream yet and now they're talking about 5k??? By the time that comes out surely this will be old news?

Problem with any of these dual cards is the heat so it will turn into a contest as to who can compromise the least when dealing with it.

If AMDs offering comes with a waterblock it will be 1 - 0 to AMD as it will give them the freedom to even offer a dual Hawaii card running at 1200/1625 or more out of the box whereas NVidia are already crippled from the start by using air and the end user fitting a block will only partially get over this as the card will not be fully geared up to make the most of it.

Wow what a card. Can't help but be a little excited by this. It would sit in my rig and not get out of 1st gear so overkill for me, but boy would I love to own one.

Well if we're talking theoretical. If AMD launch a dual GPU, there's nothing stopping Nvidia altering the design of a dual GTX 780Ti version. It wouldn't have to be the same as the Titan Z. It could be a very different animal.

Personally had enough of all these 28nm cards. Time for something other than GK110 or Hawaii GCN. Roll on 20nm..

The difference is NVidia have just put their cards on the table so as to speak.:D

And yes if you already own top level 28nm cards it is a pointless exercise switching to different 28nm cards as the performance is reasonably close whatever you are using.:)

The thing is the next generation 20NM AMD and Nvidia GPUs might be fully DX12 compliant, and will probably be here by the end of this year.

From an engineering perspective this Nvidia dual GPU card and the rumoured AMD one looks interesting, but surely with the amount of power they need, and the cooling whats the point??

Its not like these will be in a small SFF case?? They will be in a full sized case, meaning SLI/Crossfire is an option, less thermally limited and cheaper.
