Heya,

I've done plenty of googling around but I'm still not sure of what temps I should use as my limits when overclocking. Additionally, I'm not sure what my CPUs max temp is supposed to be. Intels website states "TCASE 60.1°C" but that seems too low to be used as a limit (not that I've got that far yet!)

Can some kind soul explain what tj is and how I should use it? Phrases such as "distance to tj Max"; what does it mean?

My cpu is the e6600. I'm currently at 33C idle and 47C load @3008Mhz (60 minutes Prime 95 Small FFT, Temps from Core Temp with 85C tj???)

Intels site states the overal cpu temp, the same temp the bios will go with for overheat protection too.

so the 60.1c is correct, so as its not so easy to find the tjmax of that cpu, personally for me i would just watch the overal cpu temp with like speedfan or everest. And forget about looking at the core temps.

And as ur at 47c underload, then your still well under the max limit.
