Hi guys!

I was wondering if you be so kind as to have a look at my rig for me and see what you think I can do about my flow woes! My loop is as following (currently)

RES (XSPC Single Bay Res) -> PUMP (Laing D5) -> RADIATOR (Thermochill PA120.3) -> CPU (XSPC Delta V3) -> ROOF RADIATOR (XSPC RS240) -> GPU (SOON TO BE INSTALLED!) ->

Now, this entire loop is running off one D5. I have had flow trouble with this rig for a while now and would love to get it sorted. I recently saw that XSPC released a Dual DDC Bay Res/Pump combo which looked quite attractive but I as my rig is in a recording studio (ie. Soundproofed) it needs to be SILENT.

So, in light of this 2x DDCs would be too noisy correct? I have had ONE DDC and had an annoying buzzing which I got rid of by buying the D5 although I started to get bubble trouble thanks to lack of flow in the latter pump.

Therefore I feel that I could either:

a) Buy two not very powerful submerged pumps (like the XSPC ones for example) and run two seperate loops.

b) Buy a DDC Ultra for one loop and try my best to silence the thing.

c) Buy the XSPC double bay res with 2x DDCs for dual loops (although this would no doubt be noisy) - as far as I can tell said product does not actually submerge the DDCs in water correct??!

Anyhow check out some pictures of my current rig (bear in mind my friend just sold me his 285GTX as he can't play games anymore (long story!) and so the GFX card is just air cooled atm.

It should be noted that I am also very eager to get rid of the 'mess' in my case by limiting tubing and getting better cable management. In light of this, I am fully aware of the need to cut the mobo tray and combine the radiators' fan cables into one single braided snake. This way I could control all fans off ONE channel on my BigNG.

Two old pictures with my 4870X2 which I sold (just so you get an idea of the 'mess' I was talking about with a FC GFX block installed):

Thanks for taking the time to browse through this thread - I look forward to hearing what you guys have to say about my setup!

P.S I am juggling the idea of getting an XSPC RX480 down the bottom there - is this a good idea? I haven't got flexibility on the roof rad as the case is already modded to take a dual and I don't really wanna mess with it. The bottom compartment (as you can see) also houses the pump so I would want to ideally move the pump some place else (which is why that XSPC double Bay res looks so appealing!!!)

Lovely!

Those pictures helped a lot! Great looking rig man it p*sses over mine both in aesthetics and performance! My e8400 idles at 38c and loads 45c but it is overclocked to 4.40Ghz (1.325v). Actually seeing someone elses TJ07 has really inspired me to sort mine out.

I could grab a DDC and mount it where you have in the middle compartment along with the EK150 which would cut down on some of the tubing. Speaking of which I appreciate what you are saying about the tubing but I spent a fortune on compression fittings for 1/2 3/4 size lol! Still, guess I could always sell on MM once I have enough posts...

Likewise, I love the way yours is coated black on the inside that makes SUCH a difference imo. Presuambly you had a hole cut in your mobo tray to to route your 24 pin through?

What tubing you use in yours and can you get the tfc compression fittings for that size? I much prefer fittings over barbs and clips. Last question, do you have a fan controller for all those fans on your quad cos I have a BigNG so I may as well use it - just need to work out how to combine the three fans on my TC into one braided 3 pin to use just on one channel of the controller...

4th and 5th pictures show what looks like a crimp in your hose from the top rad to the bay. Is this just a fault of the photo, or could this be part of the reason for poor flow?

Ha ha sharp eyes indeed!

Actually this is only because I have just sold on my 4870X2 (and block) so had to reattach my loop to not include the GFX. This is only a temporary solution as now I have the 285GTX I will be getting a wb for this (along with some other bits hopefully) and sorting it all out.

Well spotted though!!

To Generious - cheers for the info man you've been a tremendous help. I will look at all the different aspects of what you have said and see if I can 'cherry-pick' what will work for me.

I am still curious as to how you managed to tidy your fan cables from your quad in the bottom there?!
