TMNF pay to play

Does anyone know if track mania is becoming a pay to play ?
Someone told me this yesterday but want sure if he was pulling my leg

I dont think this is true

They've added a "free zone", for people who dont have united, every fifth track you have to spectate for the whole track.

Thats all I think

i have united he doesnt and that maybe why / what he was getting confused over

Yup, that's all they've done. It's actually quite annoying when you've been playing well and then have to stop for 5 minutes!

Totally forgot about this game, starting playing it again a few days ago and I'm mildly addicted. It's such a great game to waste an hour or two on.

The start of a VERY slippery slope for the series now, it would not surprise me if TM2 was pay to play or involved less modding and MASSES of DLC especially now it is owned by Ubisoft.

Haha, I'm not that good yet, only got 4500~ points and usually ragequit if I keep crashing.

It's unbelievable how well some players can hug the corners and achieve the fastest time. I was on the ragged edge, going as fast as I could and still only barely managed top 7/8 with a few guys in front of me 2/3 seconds faster. :eek:

It's one of the most satisfying games though, in my opinion. Nothing like pushing it to the limit and having it pay off, nicking a tenth over some guy ranked top 50,000 or whatever.
