tmobile and IP4 upgrade

Ive just found out i can upgrade on the 10th of Aug
Its looking like the IP4 upgrade
But i have a question
If I upgrade to the the IP4 its needs the new smaller sim, is it a case of getting the phone first from the shop then having a replacement sim card ?
Anyone with any info on Tmobile IP4 upgrades ?

You can cut your current SIM down, or they'll give you a new one and transfer your number to it. They'll post you it probably.

If you want the iPhone 4 though, it looks like you'll be waiting until the end of September to upgrade on T-Mobile from what I've heard.

Spawn in the iPhone 4 thread rang them today and they told him he wouldn't be able to get one until September, however his is an early upgrade, is yours?

Well, due to stock and so on they might prioritise people who actually are at the end of the contract, after all, you aren't going anywhere for another 1-3 months.

well ive just spoke to them now about it all.
they said it depends on loyalty and how much i py a month with them on if i get the IP4
I then told them if i dont get IP4 on my upgrade date 10.8.10 i will leave when my contract is up.
The guy seemed to think that would be an issue getting the phone
his name was Fred with an american / indian accent !!

They aren't doing deals on the iPhone for upgrades, you have to take what new custers have. That's what I've been told twice.
As for dates, none have been given and that's from staff that I know who are still working in one of the call centres

UPDATE

ive just called my local TMobile shop in town.
Explained what Fred the american indian guy told me about loyalty and how much i spend will determine on whether I get IP4, and he told me that was a load of *******, even on an early upgrade anyone is able to get the IP4 providing they are in stock.
