For anyone that got the HTC Hero (G2 touch) deal a couple of years ago and are 'cancelling' I got offered a HTC Sensation on my original tarriff.
I was on the 300 mins, Ultd Texts and Ultd web at £15.

The phone is £20 to keep that tarriff so bit their hand off.
I was first offered a Desire S but said it wasn't a handset I was interested in.
They then offered the Sensation.

I asked about the XE and they said £36 a month!!!!!

I called back later to order the sensation and asked what cost of the xe for the handset to stay on £15 and they said £90.

I took the sensation as I'm not interested in paying £70 for beats headphones when my sennheiser hd25's do the job!

Hope this helps someone.

I'm always puzzled by T-Mobile's CS Dept. I called earlier today as my 18 month Desire contract runs out on 10th March. I explained I'd like to go to a cheap tariff for a few months until the Edge is released. I use less than 100 minutes and 100 texts a month, and less than 500MB data. The best they could offer was a 30 day package for just under £20. I currently pay £25 for 600 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited data. I have £340-worth of loyalty with them, whatever that means, and pay £25 a month rather than £30 a month because of this loyalty discount. I've been with them for quite a few years.

The CS rep just couldn't offer anything remotely competitive for my basic requirements, and was happy to hand over my PAC on the spot.

Maybe to do with the amount of minutes etc that you have as your package.
As long as I stayed on the 15quid tarriff I was on they were happy to give me the phone.
If they wouldn't play ball, i would just keep calling until you get a cs rep that makes an offer.

IMHO, TMobile 'retentions' people have lost interest....for me, after many years on £30-35 contracts, they just were not interested in offering me anything to keep me.
No worries, as it happened, as I was all set to go elsewhere, but really surprised that no effort was made at all -every previous upgrade time I have been offered some really enticing packages....and ended up staying
