Hey guys,

Got a mate with a strange HWMonitor reading. It's showing TMPIN0, TMPIN1 and TIMPIN2. The first two readings are fine (appear to be either CPU & NB or CPU & SB) but TMPIN2 is showing 72 degress when just running iTunes and firefox...and it's apparently been known to hit above 110 degrees before.

I can't figure out what it is. I am thinking either Northbridge or southbridge, but why would they be anywhere near that heat on the Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2H ? It looks like it has decent NB & SB heatsinks.

i'd guess that TMPIN2 is a fake reading, 0 on my Asus board is the cpu and 1 is the mobo
get him to run 5 minutes of prime or something greedy and the cpu temps should rocket past the motherboards ;)

Using that board in a second rig, TMPIN10 is mobo TMPIN1 is cpu and TMPIN2 is a dead sensor. I've seen it hitting well into 100'c before
