Hi,

Am looking for a 22" (20") monitor for predominantly video/photo editing and have been debating cost/benefit for TN and IPS. I know that IPS gives better colour representation so that would presumably benefit me a lot?!

Will the increase in IPS benefit me for the added cost (don't really wana go above £220)...

Help please!!!

Viewing angles are much better on IPS (and MVA and PVA). On TN you'll get a colour shift from the top to the bottom of the screen (ie the top of the screen will be slightly pale and the top slightly dark) and it'll change every time your head moves. There's no 'sweet spot' where the whole screen is even brightness. Plus TN is 6 bit. For your intended use I would say IPS is worth the extra money.

For your use I suggest IPS, MVA or PVA for a superior image. Gamers should consider TN for their superior response times.
