So as of today TNT sports is now on HBO Max. My Discovery+ sub lapsed a few days ago so went to create a new sub direct with HBO. From what I can see if you just want TNT Sports you only get Full HD, there is a year commitment sub which is cheaper, but again this appears to only be Full HD. It seems the only way to get 4k is by getting the premium HBO max sub alongside this, is this what everyone else sees? I get HBO Max with Sky so really don't want to duplicate the sub for that. It's a bit of a con saying nothing changes when it certainly appears to.

Parents subscribe to tnt sports through BT usually watching on an ee box, I would expect that to continue to offer 4K , otherwise they have diminished the service,
the app running on that ee box is used for tnt catchup, and I'd expect that also to mainain same service.

for the app running on another tablet/phone maybe all bets are off.

I get the sports through my EE contract, so have just created a hbo max account. Curious if the £15 a month sub is needed for 4k sports too. I was thinking about getting anyway as they have a few decent series

If you go to TNT sports website, you can get 4K but it includes HBO ‘Premium’ and you can’t get the original price of £30.99, which was a rip off as it was, considering the stream issues, sound dropping, oversharpening / quality issues and the general crap which is the punditry team they have. So it now being £45.98 unless you pay annually whereby it will be the equivalent of £34.99 a month sticks in the craw somewhat.

Not impressed. Not impressed at all.

Yeah not too happy with it but ended up doing the year commitment at 35 a month. Only a few quid more plus I will watch some of the programmes that Sky is now doing adverts in.

Fair enough if you’re going to get the use from HBO Max. I think I’ve watched most of the shows unfortunately.

Thinking about it, we have to pay for Paramount too for Champion’s League matches as TNT Sport lost those, with Europa being on Sky in future too. So only missing a few matches at 12:00 and random others, I guess.

It seems odd to up their prices when their offering has diminished a lot. I thought they’d have gone down, not up.

I'm not sure i'll get my moneys worth but want the footy in 4k so not a lot of options. Forgot about paramount... Competition would be good they said!

Getting ridiculous now between all the sports channels.

Competition for TV coverage was supposed to bring prices down, give "choice" to the fans, not fragment it over 4/5/6 different subscription based tv products....

Utterly ridiculous situation now.

Even Premier Sports in Scotland now is a separate channel for Scottish football - another seperate sub

Or course it doesn't. Has Netflix got cheaper and better since everyone released their own streaming service?

Competition in a free market brings prices down, competition in controlled markets just raises prices for everyone. If everyone could just sort out their own broadcasting of PL games it would go down. One company selling the rights to it won't though.

What is the deal here if you were paying for TNT Sports through sky?

Do I now get HBO instead? Wut?

You still keep TNT sports through Sky - the channels are not effected by their streaming service change.

Same content also available via HBO max. In other words the streaming content for TNT have just moved platform from Discovery+ to HBO Max.
