Hey all, I've got a HTPC running MCE with a ATI AIW X800 (the one with the SCART) previously I’ve connected it up to my TW box but I’m now getting rid of TW because the channels aren’t worth what I’m paying. I’ve bought a Nova-T usb2 card from these boards so I can get freeview from a set top Ariel I have. Got the card, installed the drivers and went through the setup process and got all of the freeview channels. I then realized nuts I have an AIW with a tuner on it, so I went through the setup with that and got all the freeview channels.

I can get all the freeview channels from both cards and the same guide but separately because when I try to set them up together I get a signal not found, bizarre.

Has anyone come across this before or has any idea what might be up?

Cheers
Poggy

Are you trying to set it up so you can use the 2 tuners together (eg. one to watch and the other to record another channel at the same time)?

What software are you using? Sorry, just noticed your using MCE :o

Yip i want ti use both the tuners at the same time, one to watch and one to record but it's beign a bitch

I think the turners you use have to be the same type of tuner, ie freeview, you can't have a freeview and non freeview tuner working together. Also you need to make sure that both cards are compatable and have the right kind of drivers installed, check the MS webbie for a compatability list.

That might be what it is, bit bizzare how the non-freeview card get freeview though but I'll check the Ms website.

If they're both DVB-T (freeview) tuners then you should be able to get them working together in theory. In practice though MCE can be a bit fussy about these things and it is easier with 2 tuners that are identical.

You need BDA-certified drivers for it to work properly with MCE, so check the that both drivers are BDA. I'm pretty sure the nova-t has BDA drivers, so you may want to check the drivers for the AIW.

The AIW is def BDA becuase thats what comes up for it when you are in the setup screen

Take it you grabbed the very latest drivers from the hauppauge website?

http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/pages/support/support_dvb-t_wintv.html

Failing that, have you tried one of the other Media Centre Freeware apps to see if it works in that?

Media Portal and GB PVR are worth a look. Make sure to check out the compatability list on each one though.

Hmm i think i have the latest ones from the the American site, i'll load these in tonight and give it a bash.

Thanks for your help

Right i've installed the latest drivers and low and behold it's still not working. I'm using a prog that lets me choose my tuner and writes that choice to the reg, through trial and lots of errors i've come to the conclusion that its the NOVA-T USB2 that wont work in the dual mode for some reason, no idea why.
