Now the insurance has been sorted. i have the cash to either go and buy the 3g 8gb (or add the extra cash for 16gb) but do i wait and hope there is a new iphone coming soon?

i cant decide. i've missed not having my iphone so much over the past month its unreal. never realized how much i used it lol

AFAIK, no official announcement or date has been given from Apple for the new iPhone, although rumours are June time....

If it was me, i'd get a 3G, right now, TODAY! I'd die without my iPhone! lol.

Hard call....

can you now unlock the 3g??

ive had the 2g for ages, but then broke it. so would want to unlock it. is thats now possible.

i just dont want to buy this one this week. and then couple months down the line they brinng out a new iphone.

more to the point can i really go another 2/3 months without a iphone

I am in a similar position, but I'd be buying for the first time so my gut instinct is telling to me to wait.

Only problem is I want it now and the fact that there is no definite news on a new iPhone.... Come on apple !

Yeah 3G can be unlocked now, But I am not sure for the new iPhone firmware. (If you want to unlock it, just make sure you dont update to 2.2.1, think thats the latest one), Im unsure if 2.2.1 has been cracked yet to be unlocked... sure someone will clear this up though.

I have a 3G at the moment, and although I got mine a few months back prior to this 'rumour' of a new iPhone, way I see it, is if a new one comes out, its roughly gonna cost about £350 (at a guess), and I could/would still be able to get £250 at least for my current 3G.

So I could just put the extra to the new one, albeit ill be losing out on £100 ish, but defo worth it. :)

Gogogogogo get one.

I'd bet my house on a new iPhone coming out in June. It's up to you to decide whether you can wait three months. :)

You won't hear anything from Apple until it's released.

I'd get one now (on PAYG), 3 months is a long time to wait and you can always sell it in June to re-coup the majority of the money.
