To Duty Free or Not... That is the question..

Does anyone know if the prices of duty free shops at heathrow is much cheaper with regards to camera equipment/memory cards in comparison to internet mail order? Im in need of a few compact flash cards and dont think i have time to get them via online ordering. However, as my destination is Hong Kong, maybe I shouldnt be worrying?

Also, as the humidity is going to be 80-95%, is there any precautions to take with camera equipment? Moisture absorbing bags?

When bored waiting at Heathrow, myself and my bad girlfriend entertain ourselves for a few minutes by going into certain duty free shops and exclaiming loudly at how expensive all the camera/electronic kit is. Childish eh?

So the answer is, no. Buy before you go or when you get there if you want cheap deals.

I guess the only saving grace is the cheap spirits! Its amazing how much business certain stores make selling carrier bags!
