Can anyone reccomend a program for editing .XPM files? I'm having trouble tracking one down. Incidently, the purpose of use is editing the splash screen for a grub bootloader (which for me is an experiment in itself :p )

Thankies.

You can use GIMP to edit it. Then once its done gzip it and move to /boot/grub.

Thanks for that :) do I necessarily need to be using GIMP in Linux though? Or can I use it in Windows just as well?

Er I assume GIMP in windows has the same support however I assumed you would be using linux since your wanting to edit it for grub :p

Well I guess I could use either really, I'm doing a project to multi-boot a dozen operating systems off one hard drive and I want to make a cool personalised boot screen to go with it. The trouble is that I’m still teaching myself how to do it, it's taking several attempts and the only operating system that doesn't have the risk of being totally lost by a **** up on my behalf is Windows on a seperate hard drive :o Not for long I hope :)
