Currently gaming at 1680x1050 on my excellent Dell 20" monitor. For the past few weeks I've been so tempted to move to a 24" monitor but I just cant commit. The model I have in mind is the Hyundai W240D-PVA 24"

Any users regret going to 24" or is it one of those upgrades where you never look back, kind of like going from 4:3 to 16:10.

If I go to 24" I will of course need to upgrade my GT8800 to something along the lines of a ATI 4870, where as I could have course just get the 4870 and continue to use my Dell but with lots of AA. My GT800 currently struggles with a few games when I up the AA.

Edit. I guess my desire is to be as satisfied as possible whilst spending as little money as possible, therefore a new GPU to allow top notch graphics without the monitor upgrade, but more importantly not to regret not buying the monitor when I had the spare cash.

You will enjoy the higher resolution and the size of the monitor but I must admit I do feel my 24" is a little large although it is fantastic when working on the pc (love it with large spreadsheets). If you sit very close to the monitor I would stick with your 20".

There is also the added cost of needed a graphics card with a bit more oomph to run the higher resolution :).

Yeah if your close to your screen then I dont think its gonna go too well being that close proberly gonna fry your eyes and get a headache!

When I had a 24" it is definatly a step up surfing and simply desktop use is better, gaming is a whole other level... but for me was only good sitting back from a 24" screen, I was a good half a meter back might sound far but was just right for me :)

Ive had a sammy 24" now for 2 days and its one of the best things ive bought COD4 looks great you wont regret it.
