The main reason I wanted a new card was so I can play crysis, but I can play crysis with my HIS 512MB x1900xt over clocked to the xtx, at 1024x768, 2x AA, Everything on high accept for shadows on low, post processing on medium, shaders medium, and its perfectly playable. Lowest 18fps, highest 32fps, and it stays in the 20s most of the time.

Im guess crysis will be the most gpu demanding game for a good 6months, so would I be wasting my money buying a new card, so I can play crysis smoother when things get mental and slightly higher detail? Plus how well will the full game perform I wonder.

You'd probably get a nice price on the Bay for your x1900 still dude .. might be a cheap upgrade but you will see a massive difference in performance!

Speedy, I am upgrading from my His 1900XT to the cheapest 8800gt, and adding a better cooler, looking for near double the performance, think it is well worth the upgrade for 1900 owners.

My GT arrives tomorrow, or the next day.

I'm thinking of trying to sell off my 1800xt on there to, not sure how much ill get tho?

430w enough for an 8800gt? :)

I think i'm gonna do the same thing rigt now, what cooler are you thinking of slamming on the GT? :)

Heh I'm in the same boat, about to place an order for one and I guess I'll try and flog my 256MB x1800xt on ebay to make some money back.

Looking at my bank balance I cant afford 1, dammit,, and I havent even got a girlfriend..lol

Lol me neither, my finger has been hovering over the buy button all day, I could afford one, but I have a £1.5k guitar coming in a few days and a big customs bill, so it'd completely clear me out :o

So tempted but I know I'd feel really guilty afterwards :D

I think I will keep my trusty x1900 card until I really need a new card. plus Im getting fed up with always routing about inside my pc, these last few months the side has been off and on like a yoyo, and it would be nice to leave it alone for a few months.

Do you guys ever get fed up with taking your systems apart?

Just ordered one, found one at a great price and used a £10 discount code.

Yeah speed2k4, I'm not into overclocking anymore either, I like to go for a mild overclock then leave it, as long as everything works and runs fine then I'm happy :)

Been meaning to clean the dust out of me latest build for a few months but can't be bothered :o Will do it when the 8800 arrives.

Im jeallous,, but like I dont need 1, I just want 1..lol,, just as long as crysis runs ok im happy, cos I was expecting crysis to run a lot worse on my sys anyway, and i never dreamed that my sys with the 1900 card would run crysis at high detail with some AA. I thought It would run ok but on the lowest settings possible. Basically Im just being greedy now:D

I de dust my pc when temps start to rise, about every 3months

Same here really, I've just shoved my 1950xt on an auction site and already have a few watchers, some guy's 1950xt is going for £91 at the moment, if I get £80 for mine i'll be happy, then it'll have cost me about £60 to get the 8800GT all things considered. I'm just scared that they're going to sell out everywhere :p

I upgraded from a 1800XT to a 8800GTX and the jump was huge. I did buy a 24" monitor though :P

If you're gaming on low res, I would wait until you either want a screen upgrade, or your games starting running badly.

If you do upgrade, the 8800GT would be a great choice.

Yeah crysis and cod are games that i would play and my graphics are not bad, but after crysis and cod and haveing to turn my graphics down a notch, made me think that i was maybe time for a new card. problem is that i'm not one of the lot that likes buying new cards all the time, just now and then, tops once a year and never go for the dearest and best as they are always second best within a month, so not worth it. The 8800GT does seem to be a good card and considering that i will not be upping my monitor any time soon, should be able to handle itself for a while........hmmmm

So you guys reckon a gt over a gts for gaming at 1650x1050? Just as i read another post saying that the gt was better for lower 1280 etc where as the gts picked up at 1650.
