Hey guys,

Realised my RAM is running at 2133mhz according to the BIOS. I dont get the option to change anything from auto..the only way I can get it to change is by changing XMP to "profile 1".?

Is that the correct way to do so?

Does XMP lower your RAM life? Like my ram can run at 2666mhz but I got it stock to try and make it last longer, but I don't know if this is true.

Yep. Done this, running at 2933mhz..

initial success with this, but after rebooting it goes into a boot loop, wont even post, have to reset the BIOS..is it my RAM causing this with Rysen?

And yeah, bios all up to date etc..RAM im running is the Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000Mhz kit.

Ryzen is picky with ram types, and speed. It favours one type over the rest and I have forgotton what that was but if you google it I'm sure you will find out.

Samsung B die modules like the 8Pack dark pro ones are always more compatible on Ryzen and very flexible for overclocking. Set xmp 3200mhz no issues.

Ryzen is extremely picky when it comes to high frequency memory. If you post the full part number for the kit you have, this may shed some light on the issue. Also, if you haven't done so already, update your motherboard BIOS to the latest non-BETA version which should include the AGESA update to 1.0.0.6. This update corrects a lot of compatibility and stability issues with memory.
