How on earth do you even begin to do the expert levels? Ive been playing on and off for a bit since i got it, i can do all the songs on easy pretty well (xbox 360 version), sometimes have a slight difficult time on sections of through the fire and flames though.

Ive since moved onto Medium and i can do SOME songs, although i really struggle with the extra note, now my question is how on earth do you even begin to do expert? lol. The notes move so fast i can barely even see them let alone attempt to even get a 5 note string.

How did you begin to attempt to do these songs at all? Maybe im just too old and my reflexs are dead from years of PC gaming :P

Put a Laggy band & a bottle top around the neck to hold the Green button down all the time & play from the red down.

Personally I won't cheat so am just holding the green down constantly myself & tapping my way through the fast bits until I get quick enough to do Expert, It is a Hell of a challenge but Superb fun.

by the time you've got through medium, you'll find that your fast enough to start on hard. you will probably struggle on hard from say half way onwards but once you've got towards the end of that you'll be about ready to attempt expert :)

oh and The Devil Went Down To Georgia battle is just an absolute ***** on hard! the only song I can't do :(

I found medium to hard harder than hard to expert.

Yep. Medium you hardly move your hand, but once you start working to get the orange it's a big difference.

Just practice, practice, practice! You'll only get there if you're willing to try.

Same. I can complete the song normally, just the ridiculous and pointless boss battle I can't do. They ruined GH3 for me.

I wouldn't call myself an expert (yet?) but it is all down to practice. When i first started playing i was just in awe of how hard it looked. Now, less than a month down the line, i'm playing GH3 on hard and Rock Band on expert, i actually find difficulties lower than that boring.

All about practice. That and force yourself to move up to the next level. Where you near the end of a tour on a difficulty you are basically ready to hit the beginning of the next difficulty I found.

As said prior, the biggest jumps are the extra keys, so I started on medium and went from there, and getting onto hard and moving my hand was the main difficulty. Then expert is ok as long as you dont get songs with a silly amount of impossible chords..

I think of it like riding a bike or driving a car. You stop thinking about it once you get used to it.

I used to think the exact same thing as you - when I sat watching my mate I thought how does he do it?

Once you've played for a while, youre brain just begins to know which finger should press down when a note appears at a certain part of the screen. As everyone else says it takes "practice" but not sitting in practice MODE - just playing the game.

I've been playing GH since july last year so it takes a while to get really good :)

Never really thought of using that all the time, Surely thats a problem on double chords though.

I'm used to stretching my fingers that far anyway so hitting the orange fret is quite easy after a few attempts. just practice doing songs slowly (if you have that option in GH3).

you can either shift your hand from green to red and hitting them and occasionally hitting a green or you can stretch your hand and learn where the each fret is and space your hand accordingly.

the bit im stuck on is the metallica One solo on hard mode.. i can hit nigh on every note up until then, but then it all just falls apart :(

Just keep playing! Even Danny got good he played so much! ;) :p

:p

There is no tips other than practice really.

Yeah I had the same problem as the op, I think the best way to get better at GH is to finish the medium career and then go to hard on either Rockband or GHWT.

Both those games on hard are a lot more forgiving than GH3. It makes the step up to 5 frets that much easier in the beginning.

By the time you have done that on hard/expert you will be ready for GH3 on hard.

expert on all songs but fire and flames. all you need to learn is how to move your hand from green to red and remember what buttons your fingers are over.

once you get the knack of moving your whole hand down instead of just your pinky or index its much easier. also doesnt hurt to look at the top of the screen rather than where the notes hit the buttons.

I bought GH3 at the weekend and my advice is try and play through Medium asap and then step up to hard as soon as possible. You will fail the first three or so goes but your brain and fingers will soon adapt to the extra string/button. The rage song is one of the easier songs on hard! Good luck.
