I just tried to watch a Blu Ray on my PC with windows 7 (64) and Media centre doesnt support Blu Ray wtf.

Are Microsoft to tight to pay for the codec or is there more to it?

Anyone suggest a good player that plays Blu ray free version not trial?

I tried powerdvd which was a free trial only, i tried windvd pro 2010 also a free trial.

Any links to where i can get a player from please ?

Thanks

I had this dilemma last year and posted a similar thread. Windows 7 does support DVD playback now, but no version of Windows supports blu-ray yet. At the time I wrote my thread, I don't think there was any freebie solution to blu-ray playback, so I went and bought Anydvdhd. This is a driver that makes your blu-ray drive appear as a DVD drive and lets you play blu-ray discs in your favourite playback program such as Media Player Classic.

I do feel your pain though OP, as I decided to buy 2 blu-ray discs first, THEN discovered the dilemma once I tried to play them on the PC.

no matter which way you'll turn with bluray you'll have to fork out for licensing fees, so review the big three of PowerDVD, WinDVD and TotalMedia Theatre along with AnyDVD HD and get ready to bite the bullet. ;)
You *can* do it for free, but it is complicated for something that should be so simple.

Yep, its not the money but they should include one of these programmes with the blu ray drive or something seeing as they know you cant watch blu ray without it.

Thanks guys
