to old to play videogames ?

My mums in her 50's and is an avid Tomb raider fan, keeps asking about when the next 1 is out and when i'm going to finally buy a 360

I remember when we got Lemmings for the Snes, she'd sometimes play that till 2 in the morning :p

Well im 33 and play on my 360 eveyday when i can find the time around my work hours and a month ago got a samsung hdtv for it and the other half is also 33 and she's on the pc playing the sims2 all the time whenever she finds time around her work so wont be giving up on gaming for a long time yet!. :)

Hi,

Just wondering, do you feel too old to play videogames, am planning to get a 360 sometime ( hopefully soon :) ) but do you think people can grow out of it ?

I mean my parents don't play video games at all, and even 15 years ago they were never really interested in my Gameboy or Master System :D

So can you picture when you are say in your 30's you're still be playing on the next best PS5 or whatever it is then.

LOL. Picture it? I'm doing it.

My parents play the occasional game and they are in their 50's. Mum likes Breakout and Pinball. My dads a Breakout and Solitaire player.

As has been said we grew up in a different age. My grandad used to love doing Airfix kits in his youth and still does the occasional one today. My Nan has enjoyed knitting since she was a girl and still does it today so theres no reason why something we grew up doing we should suddenly stop.

Also from a financial point of view your best set up for gaming in your 30's and onwards. In your Teens you probably only work part time, 20's your probably struggling to get on the property ladder etc etc....... exception to the rule being students and those hefty student loans of theirs :p

I'm a mere 31 (I think... I tend to lose track these days) so I'm a mere pup to many of the old dogs on here. My wife (older woman, 34, scandalous cradle snatcher imo) and I plan on playing games for a long time yet.

19 here... :p

Cant wait to beat my son down at some ludicrously amazing titles in the future...

If i have a daughter i'll just sell it. Till i get a son.

One of ours is 7 and she is spoilt, Dreamcast\DS\PC\PS2\Gamecube

She owns me at Mario Party - and she makes the most amazing theme parks in rollercoaster tycoon!

My daughter keeps getting stuck on the Harry Potter games and makes me help her /sigh

Kids these days, no perseverance!

My dad (65 this year) plays more than I do, mainly Ultima Online, but also various things like MahJong and Tetris etc.

My nephews had consoles practically from the day they could hold a controller, by the time the oldest was about 5 he had a Snes, Megadrive, PS, Dreamcast and Saturn (well his dad did, but he used them) :)
