Right, Im aware theres a certain game coming out next week thats the third in the trilogy and Im trying to work out whether or not to bother playing the single player.

I own both Halo and Halo 2 and have really never played them. Think I played the first few levels of Halo when I first got my Xbox but apart from that Ive never really bothered.

So should I play Halo and Halo 2 thorugh first to get the storyline or just jump in at 3? I guess I could just play the multiplayer online with Halo 3 and leave the storyline till after Ive played the others through.

Thoughts?

I'm in pretty much the same boat. The trouble is I've been buying and playing games pretty much for just having something to play.

Will I just buying Halo3 for that reason?

Do I even play enough MP on the games I've had, sadly no looking through my last played games :o

I've decided I need to start playing much more MP as it's more fun but I'm not sure I will have fun getting my bottom fed to me every game as I'm that far behind on Halo.

If the story is only 6 hours or so, you may as well play the SP game during the day while your waiting for the evenings MP???

I would just play it, the storyline ain't all that deep or heavy that you would feel lost having not played the 1st 2 games.

I'm in the same boat lol. I don't want to jump in on the hype. I never played part one, only played part two about 3 times and thought it was average. Cheers for the links Wyrdo.

Halo doesn't have a deep story at all, but I tried playing halo 1 recently and time has most definitely not been kind.

I'm playing through Halo 2 now as I was between Xboxes when it came out. Stuck it on easy so I can blast through it.

I love playing through halo 2 on easy, sure first time through i'll do it on heroic (then on legendary later) but playing it on easy makes you feel like such a super hero, no taking cover for me, jumping over crates smacking elites in the face with my gun!

I always thought of halo as an "ok" kind of game. The single player isnt really that brilliant although it is enjoyable (apart from halo 2 - i was really bored towards the end...dont kill me...) and the story isnt really too compelling either.

But my "ok" status of the game goes away when i play multiplayer!

I always used to play halo 2 with 3 of me mates round me mates house and ive never had so much fun! Its truely brilliant. Its a shame i have never played on halo 2 on live, as im sure i wouldve loved it.

For the MP alone i have pre ordered halo 3, the single player (which im hoping will be good) will just be an awesome bonus!

Also, you can play the single player with a friend, 2 player co-op. This is brilliant, i used to love playing this with me brother and cant wait for halo 3 to come out to do the same :)

Plus you can get it cheap of a popular auction site, why not have a punt :)

Halo3 will be the next MP game to have

Think of all the great nights we had on GRAW, now multiply that by a million* and thats how much fun you will have*.

I just wonder how long it will be the MP game to have with COD 4 due. I really want to get back into MP gaming but the last quarter of this year has so many potentially great MP titles.
